Our app, TeamRhythm, helps teams collaborate through features like Retrospective boards and estimation session assistance — experiences that depend on seamless, realtime updates to feel truly collaborative. In Connect, we supported this using proven cloud technologies in AWS, but the solution was complex and difficult to maintain. When we began exploring how to adapt it for Forge, it quickly became clear that it would only add more complexity rather than reduce it.

That’s where Forge Realtime came in. In this session, we’ll share how our need for live collaboration led us to work closely with Atlassian on shaping this new capability — one that has enabled us to make our apps more event-driven and interactive without the heavy lifting of custom infrastructure. We’ll walk through our migration journey, the architectural trade-offs we faced, and how adopting Forge Realtime allowed us to simplify our design while preserving the rich, collaborative user experience our customers expect.
