We’re handing the mic to another TAG team member for the latest ‘Three Questions’ 🎤 Hear from Ann Newsham, one of our Senior HR Managers for UK and EMEA, about Mental Health Awareness Month ⤵️ Q: What does Mental Health Awareness Month mean to you? A: It’s really important to have a month dedicated to awareness and reducing stigma, but at the same time, I genuinely hope it’s something that just becomes the norm, rather than only one month a year. We are all affected by mental health in some way. There are so many pressures in modern life that can become overwhelming and the need to offer support to those suffering is acute. We need to educate and persuade governments and corporations to give this issue the recognition and resources it so clearly needs. Q: How do we at TAG support our people's mental health? A: In the HR team, we make use of everything we can to make sure people have the right support—whether it’s Occupational Health, phased returns to work, or building relationships across the business so people know what’s available and who to talk to. More generally, we have a free and 100% confidential employee assistance programme (EAP) for our teams in the UK and US—I’d really encourage people to use it when they need to. We also offer paid subscriptions to the Calm wellbeing app for all employees, and we’ve recently launched our employee resource group (ERG) platform—to all TAG people, please join in! I’m in the Menopause group and we'll be lobbying for people to join us very soon—it’s not just for women either! Q: What resources or support networks do you turn to when you need help with your mental health? A: Personally, I place huge value on my support network of friends and family. As a peri-menopausal woman, life can sometimes be a struggle and some days are tougher than others, but the things that help me feel better are: 🔸 Talking to someone I 100% trust—feeling ‘safe’ is important to me. 🔸 Cutting back on alcohol intake—my sleep and mood benefit from this. 🔸 Cold water swimming or a cold shower—you can get the same endorphin hit! 🔸 ‘Decluttering’ negative people in my life—not easy, but I want to be surrounded by people who bring me up, not down. 🔸 Understanding my breathing—I’ve discovered that I hold my breath when I’m anxious. I'd really recommend reading Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art by James Nestor. So simple but so effective to understand how our breathing affects us. 🔸 Reminders not to beat myself up—like most people I am a ‘work in progress’, and l believe that I set my life ‘bar’ quite high. I’m learning that it’s ok to lower that bar occasionally—it doesn’t mean I’m failing; it just means it’s ok to give myself a break! #TheAdaptavistGroup #ThreeQuestions #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

How do you revolutionise a capital city’s local authority’s public grants application system? What do you do when the local authority of a public city is using an overworked and outdated Excel spreadsheet to manage their vital public grants application system? 🤔 The Adaptavist experts told the City of Reykjavik to say goodbye to overly manual processes, human error, and time sinks, and hello to Jira Service Management! 👋 Watch the video below to see how we consolidated very differing opinions into one solution, integrated Jira into CoR’s existing system, and kept them updated with daily communication–all within an unforgivingly tight deadline. ⏰ 🚀🌟 Watch the full video: https://lnkd.in/gwrJjaxy

You can't put a price on the value of your data stored in Jira, which is why it's vital that you put measures in place to ensure your instance is always safe from breaches and leaks. Luckily, there’s a simple way to achieve this: using Encryption for Jira. Encryption for Jira automatically encrypts your most important custom fields and attachments, keeping them hidden from bad actors and hidden from people who don't need access. 🔐 Discover how to use Encryption for Jira to gain peace of mind over your data in our recent blog post: https://hubs.li/Q02x2LhN0
