Description
How is psychological safety created in teams and why is it so important when delivering and evolving strategy? Join Mike Vierow from McKinsey & Company and Tom Harkin from Tomorrow Architects to explore the team condition defined as psychological safety; its links to leadership, team performance, innovation, and distinctive strategic moves.

In the context of overwhelming disruption, it's not easy to lead within a dilemma of building team cultures that are both psychologically safe and demanding (of innovation and performance). Too often, leaders overlook how this condition shows up and the role it plays in critical conversations on performance, strategy, risk or ethics.

At this talk we will explore psychological safety and examine the differences between ‘team cultures’ that exist with and without psychological safety. Tom will lead an active experience where you will learn first hand how to create the foundation of this condition. Mike will explore the implications for individual leaders and how the capacity to ‘lead self’ is the largest determiner of psychological safety.
