Scott Carpenter is Global Cloud Architect for Fugro, the world’s leading geo-data specialist headquartered in the Netherlands and supporting clients globally across the Energy and Renewables, Transportation, Power Utilities and Construction industries and has been longtime Jira Cloud user since 2011.

Scott has over 22 years commercial experience in technology leadership, cloud architecture, cloud migration, software engineering, Agile and people development and client engagement roles across commercial, non-profit and government in industries including Energy, finance, mining, animal welfare and higher education.

His role is to provide technology strategy, architectural and practical guidance for Fugro globally across R&D, IT and business teams in Europe, Australia, the Asia Pacific region and the Americas leveraging decades of pragmatic software development and technical leadership experience.

This experience includes 7 years hands-on cloud experience as a founding member of the award-winning Fugro Roames service supporting Power Utilities for vegetation inspection of overhead distribution network. Scott introduced cloud computing and led the successful migration from on-premise to AWS in a cloud-native architecture of the Roames platform, enabling international expansion of the services into new industries including asset integrity inspection for Energy industries.
