Training/Studies
Matthias Schneider completed his studies in Electrical Engineering and Automation Technology at the University of Cooperative Education in Stuttgart.                          
 
Career
In 1997, Matthias Schneider began his career at Mercedes-Benz and held various management positions in the areas of telematics services, connectivity and navigation. From 2013, Matthias built the software development team for the MBUX user frontend in Sunnyvale. In subsequent management roles, he was responsible for the transformation of the vehicle backend to the Mercedes Intelligent Cloud, as well as the area of User Interaction (UI) & Software including the intelligent voice assistant “Hey Mercedes”. Between 2021 and 2023, Matthias was responsible for the area of MB.OS Cloud, Data & UI, before he took over the role as Vice President of IT RD, Security & Data in June 2023. 
 
Current Position
Matthias Schneider currently holds the position of Vice President of IT RD & Procurement at Mercedes-Benz AG. In this function, he is responsible for the core function of IT for RD & Procurement.
