Col Nathan L. Iven is the Special Assistant to the Vice Chief ofSpace Operations at the Pentagon, Headquarters SpaceForce. In this capacity, he handles strategic, service-wideprojects for the Vice Chief of Space Operations, assisting withstrategic planning, concept development and forceemployment.
Col Iven is a graduate of Cornell University and wascommissioned in 1996. He has served in a variety ofoperational space, missile, intelligence, and cyberassignments including Minuteman III Combat Crew, SatelliteOperations, and 614th Air Operations Center CombatOperations. Col Iven directed foundational intelligenceanalysis, a Wing Chief of Safety, and served as the Director ofStrategy and Plans, securing, operating, and defending theDepartment of Defense Information Network.Col Iven commanded the Counter Space Analysis Squadron atWright-Patterson Air Force Base. He supported CENTCOMtheater space operations as the Liaison Officer to JointFunctional Component Commander for Space. Prior to hiscurrent position, Col Iven was the Acting Chief Innovation andTechnology Officer and the Acting Deputy Chief of SpaceOperations for Cyber and Data.
