Johanna Teske
Staff Scientist
Carnegie Institution for Science Earth and Planet Laboratory
Johanna is an astronomer who finds and characterizes planets around other stars to better understand how unique Earth is in the Galaxy. She does this mostly using large ground-based telescopes, and observing in the high desert of Chile is her favorite part of her job. She also works to build supportive, diverse, and interdisciplinary scientific collaborations. Johanna has a B.S. in Physics from American University and a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Arizona, and now works in Washington, D.C.
