About

At Developer Day 2022, we’re connecting a community of builders, partners, developers, and Atlassians for a 1-day virtual event.

If you build apps, integrations, or custom solutions for Atlassian products, you’re invited to hone your skills and get inspired. We’ll be sharing product announcements, how-tos, and advice from other developers.

This year, we’re welcoming external speakers to the virtual stage. Our developer community is the heart of the Atlassian ecosystem, and we want to hear from you. Tell us about apps and tools you’ve built, how you’ve grown your business in the Marketplace, and topics where you can let your expertise shine.

We encourage individuals of all backgrounds and experience levels to apply! Whether it’s your first talk or hundredth, we provide tips and support to make your submissions stand out.

We’re accepting proposals on the following content themes. See where your idea could fit into Developer Day 2022.

Developer Use Case

Share your personal experience building something unique. Take the audience through your development process, what you learned, and send them home with actionable tips they can apply to their own projects. 

Startup Stories

Succeeding in the Atlassian Marketplace takes more than just a great idea. Share your experience raising funding, building a team, listening to customers, and finding product-market fit.
 

How To

Are you an expert in a specialized field? Have you mastered a sought-after skill? Share your knowledge in a mini classroom session. Lead the audience through a project, demonstrate a technique, or lead a deep dive on a topic in app development.
 

Session Types

Choose the format that suits your unique perspective, story, and style.

If you’re selected as a speaker, we’ll work with you to schedule a recording session prior to the virtual event. All session recordings must be received by May 12, 2022.

Breakout Session

Presentation focused on building for the Atlassian Ecosystem. Includes slides, and may also include live coding or a demo. 
20-30 Minutes

Lightning Talk

A quick presentation focused on a granular topic. Demonstrate a simple technique, share a tip, or recount a personal experience.
10 Minutes

Session Review Process

Speaker details will be anonymous during preliminary selection to ensure we have an objective assessment of each submission.

Tips for a winning submission

When our committee is evaluating your submission, we only have what you provide as a part of your submission to take into consideration, so make it good! To improve your chances of being selected, be sure to cover the following points.

  • Tell us why your topic is interesting, relevant, and unique.

  • Share what your audience will walk away thinking/knowing/doing, that they didn't know prior to your session. Provide specific key takeaways!

  • Provide detailed context about your subject matter, and your intended audience.

  • Give concrete examples of the specific topics you'll cover - e.g. solutions to problems/issues, successful use cases, demos, best practices, teachings, how-to's, tips and tricks.

  • Keep your abstract as short and concise as possible - use the outline section to tell us more about your session specifics.
