Originally from Lisbon, I moved to Sydney for the sunshine, beaches and good food — and stayed for Jira.

At Atlassian I’ve led engineering of several important revamp projects, including the new Work Item search experience, the new JQL editor, bulk operations on Work Items, the updated navigation experience, and much more. Our group kicked off the AI journey with Natural Language to JQL, then shipped other key features such as improve Work Item description, break work into smaller tasks and summarise comments. We brought those capabilities into Slack, Microsoft Teams and other platforms.
More recently we transformed Jira into an agentic experience where you can assign Work Items to agents, connected to Claude, Cursor and GitHub Copilot.

I love working on Jira because it sits at the centre of how teams get work done. Shipping changes that help Atlassian customers is what keeps me here.
