The advantages of a distributed architecture are well-known — performance and resilience at scale, faster delivery with less risk. Happy days…right? Not quite. It also increases complexity and cognitive load for software development teams. These challenges reverse the expected benefits of building and operating software within highly distributed environments and teams.
